Frequently Asked Questions
How am I handling COVID 19?
I take COVID 19 very seriously. I have received both of my COVID 19 vaccine shots. I have not received a positive COVID 19 test. I have taken on clients during COVID 19. I wear a mask at all times and I do not shake my client's hands, instead, I'll do elbow bumps or just the "hand wave".
I have also received my flu shot this year.
Where am I based out of?
I'm based out of San Jose California but I am willing to drive anywhere in the Bay Area. Depending on the assignment, I will consider almost anything outside of the Bay Area.
What should I expect on the day of my photo shoot?
You shouldn't expect much of a change. I should have planned out at least a back up location if the first location does not work for some unforeseen reason. For example, the weather takes a turn for the worst or maybe there was an event that takes up the space for the initial location. If this occurs, I will call you and let you know of the change of plans.
Also, I really enjoy when my clients bring their ideas with them. Maybe even have a Pinterest board with ideas that you can show me. My goal is to make my clients happy. So showing me an example of what you want will be win-win in my books.
What should be my first step?
Getting in contact with me. I can be reached on my cell phone via text or phone call or you can email me and I will get back to you within 24 hours. From here, we can discusses what your goals are and you can see if you like what I have to offer. From there, I will provide the next steps.
What goes into the whole planning procedure?
Theres a lot that goes on in the planning. My photo shoots usually is on location. I try to plan my photo shoots around my clients location. For example, one of my past clients lived in Morgan Hill, I looked for parks in Morgan Hill. I also accept any recommendations. From there, I'll physically go to each location around the time I plan to have the photo shoot and snap a couple sample photos to send back to my client and see if they like or dislike the location I've provided. I also look into the weather the week of an outdoor photo shoot. About an hour before the photo shoot, I will arrive on location to scope out the area and see if there are any foreseen issues that I can account for. An example would be if there are other photographers in the area with their clients, or maybe a family is having a picnic where I had planned for my clients photo shoot. Also, I arrive an hour early to check for the weather.
How fast should I expect to get digital copies?
I will email or text a link to my clients digital copies of their edited photos within 1-5 days from the actual photo shoot. I aim to have 100% satisfaction, so I welcome any comments on the edited photos. I currently do not offer prints at the moment, but I am willing to offer advise on online photo printing services, which I have personally used before.
How do I get my pictures off of this website or David Lee's Instagram (@dylfoto)?
Before conducting a shoot, if my client agrees, I have them sign a photo consent form that grants me permission to use any photos from the shoot. Should you decide you do not want your photos publicly posted after signing the consent form, I’ve indicated on the form that you may revoke the authorization by contacting me via email, call, or text and I will happily remove the photo(s).
I don't want my clients to be surprised or unhappy with me. If there are any questions/concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.
